COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT & SAFETY

Healthy food should be affordable and accessible to everyone. I will work with York Region, local municipalities, farmers, and community organizations to develop a Regional Food Security Strategy, including community grocery cooperatives, year-round public markets, support for local food producers, and innovative partnerships that improve access to fresh, affordable food while strengthening our local economy.

I will support neighbourhood-based policing that builds trust between officers and residents through community engagement, and stronger local partnerships and support the following,

• Implementing neighbourhood safety Hubs.

• Implementing a Community Safety Ambassador program.

• Implementing more Foot and Bicycle patrols within neighbourhoods.

• More Youth Engagement Services like sports, after-school programs and summer jobs.

• Stronger victim service & resources
